Our Supporters

The CSJ Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization determined by the IRS to be a public charity per Internal Revenue Code 170 (b)(1)(A)(vi). The CSJ Foundation abides by and adheres to all requirements established by the IRS for such nonprofit charitable organizations.

Donors can deduct contributions they make to the CSJ Foundation, Inc. under IRC Section 170. The organization is also qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises and transfers of gifts under IRC Section 2055, 2106 or 2522.

The Foundation is funded entirely by donations, sponsorships, grants, bequests and other charitable contributions.

Our contributors support our efforts to invest in projects that promote local community journalism, civil discourse and civics education, and understand the importance of a free and independent press. Our funders and sponsors have no editorial role in our operations or input into the news organizations or civic/educational projects in which we support.

The news organizations who receive support from the CSJ Foundation maintain complete control over content, which is critical to maintaining a free and independent press.

We pledge complete transparency in our actions, decisions, and activities. We will make public all donors who give a total of $500 or more per year. We will accept anonymous donations for general support only.

Accepting a contribution does not mean the CSJ Foundation is endorsing a donor or their product, service or opinion.
